Adelaide’s Country Friendly Accommodation
Foundation & Mission
Founded in 2008 as Rosemary’s Place Inc., we proudly hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Our mission is to ease emotional and financial pressures by providing secure, self‑contained accommodation in Adelaide for people from rural communities who face the tyranny of distance when accessing medical and community services.
Our Values
Our work is guided by these core beliefs:
Community
We unite rural families and local volunteers in a warm, caring network.
Compassionate Care
From cosy cottages to partner-hotel rooms, we provide comfortable stays with the little extras—like equipped kitchens and Wi-Fi—so medical journeys feel a bit easier.
Empathetic Insight
Backed by decades of hands-on experience, we craft welcoming stays that truly support rural families on their medical journeys.
Key Facts & Figures
What We Do
Cottage Stays
We operate six cosy cottages in central Adelaide (in Wayville and Unley), each with a full kitchen, free Wi‑Fi, peaceful living spaces, private outdoor areas for fresh air and relaxation, and its own washing machine for added convenience.
Rural families holding a valid medical referral can book quickly and easily with a single phone call.
Partner Hotel Rooms
When cottages are full, we can arrange hotel rooms at partner venues across Adelaide, securing reduced corporate rates and handling bookings so families can focus on care. Reservations can also be made quickly and easily with a single phone call to Cottages 4 Country Care.

Peter Hughes - Advisory Committee Member
Dianne has been with the charity since 2008.
Her early work with children took her to Wudinna on the Eyre Peninsula—a town much like her birthplace in regional New South Wales. Living and working overseas later reinforced her belief that “you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.” Upon returning to Adelaide, she followed her family’s tradition of ‘giving to community,’ finding her perfect fit in Cottages 4 Country Care.
Having experienced the need to travel over 100 km with family members for medical treatment—and endured the premature loss of very close friends to cancer, leukaemia and suicide—Dianne brings genuine compassion to every guest’s stay.
She lives by the values of integrity, loyalty and mateship.
"Cottages 4 Country Care would like to acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work today. We pay our respects to the Elders both past, present and future, and acknowledge the deep feelings of attachment and relationship of the Kaurna people to country and we respect and value their past, present and ongoing connection to the land and cultural beliefs."
