In 2017, Cottages 4 Country Care purchased an ideally located and perfectly suited, two bedroom cottage in Wayville – Jane’s Cottage.

While it was a huge leap of faith and a considerable financial obligation, courage was taken from Reverend John Flynn, the founder of the Royal Flying Doctors Service who once said "If you start something worthwhile - nothing can stop it".

In 1917, Flynn received a letter which turned out to be the “seed” of inspirational for the foundation of the RFDS. Subsequently in 1928, Flynn’s dream became a reality when he received a large bequest which enable the organisation to lease one single engine plane.

To give you an idea of our difficulty and scope – to keep a family close to a patient during tense, tentative times, our present overheads for Jane’s Cottage are $163 per night. After we fully purchase the property, our overheads will be reduced by 72%

We have had 91% occupancy across our 5 cottages in the past 3 months (Mar, Apr, May '21), without advertising, or being a nationwide charity. Cottages 4 Country Care has stepped up to help guests with a variety of conditions such as:- Dialysis, Kidney Transplant, Leukaemia, Breast Cancer, Dental Problems, Brain Bleeds/Aneurysm, Ear Operation, Hip Replacement, Lymphoma, Thyroid Operation, Multiple Sclerosis, Training for Community Mental Health Program, Difficult Pregnancies, Cardiology, Cancer, Stem Cell Transplant, Brain Cancer, Eye Operation, Stomach Removal Operation, Melanoma, Cochlea Implant, Mental Health Issues, Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Over the past 13 years, we have been the quiet achievers. Now, it is time to purchase Jane’s Cottage.

To ensure our dream comes true, we have broken our huge task of raising $720,000 into bite size amounts, which enables the average “Fred and Molly” or Organisation to donate what they can. As you can see in the table, every $2 makes a difference.
